Back to School Letter to Families

Dear Families,
I hope this message finds you in good health and enjoying the hot summer weather!
On behalf of the Linden Tree staff, we welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! We are eager to receive your beautiful children in September and look forward to a productive partnership with you this year.
As you prepare for the new school year, here is some important information to keep in mind:
Schedule for the first two days of school:
First Week of School Hours for Pre-K ONLY: Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September 6– Students will attend by appointment. Ms. Morgan will reach out to schedule each family.
First Week of School Hours for Kindergarten ONLY: Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September 6 will be a half-day schedule.
Students with Last Names A-L report from 8:20 AM-10:45 AM and
Students with Last Names M-Z report from 12:00 PM-2:25 PM
First Week of School Hours for 1st – 5th Grades: Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September 6– 8:05AM - 2:35PM
After-School Program:
Ultimate Enrichment can service our school for a fee if we have 20 families registered. Please email cbonilla7@schools.nyc.gov if you are interested.
Arrival Procedures:
Pre-K and Kindergarten, students should be dropped off on St. Raymond Street through the parking lot. Doors will open at 8:20 AM and close at 8:30 AM. Students are considered late after 8:30 AM and must enter through the main entrance on Castle Hill Ave with school safety for a late pass.
Grades 1 - 5: Students should be dropped off in the schoolyard entrance on Purdy Street (near the soccer field). Doors open at 8:00 AM for breakfast/early drop off and close at 8:15 AM. Students are considered late after 8:15 AM and must enter through the main entrance on Castle Hill Ave for a late pass.
Dismissal Procedures:
Pre-K and Kindergarten: Students should be picked up on St. Raymond Street through the parking lot; at the same door as arrivals. Doors open at 2:10 PM and close at 2:30 PM. If you are late picking up, you may use the Castle Hill auditorium exit for late pick ups.
Grades 1-5: All students will be dismissed from the Castle Hill auditorium door. Doors open at 2:35 PM and close at 3:00 PM.
Uniform
The Linden Tree school uniform is black or gray polo with khaki bottoms. A limited supply is available for purchase. An order form will go home during the first week of school.
Our “Meet the Teacher” night is on Thursday, September 12, 2024!
You will have an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher teams to learn about the curriculum, learning goals for your child’s grade, and classroom routines, procedures, etc. We will send out a formal invitation as the date approaches.
School Supplies
Students should arrive on the first day of school with a backpack filled with pencils. Classroom teachers will supply students with all of the supplies they need to learn in school.
